Defining a Space

In our next project, where our aim is to define a space, me and my partner decided to capture the third floor hallway. Not the skybridge but where there are classrooms and offices. I thought a hallway would be an interesting idea to observe and define as I see it as a “social space” for students in not only Hunter but around the world. The hallway is where you can meet up with your friends before class and discuss how everyone’s day is going. The hallway is where you might run into an old classmate and reminisce about the previous semester. It can also be an opportunity to speak to faculty outside of the classroom, providing a different way to interact with teachers and your piers. Although a lot goes on in the classroom, the hallway combines the academic and social aspects of school. Artist Statement

I am interested in elevating the quality of stories that come out of the film industry. I am not interested in the simple chase scenes, or crime movies filled with an unnecessary amount of action. I am inspired by the thought-provoking tales; a story or plot that one can walk away from with an expanded and challenged mind. Being a film major is therapeutic in a way, as I am encouraged to tell my stories and what goes on in my head. For example, I like the effect that shows like The Twilight Zone and Black Mirror have on their audiences. Whether they feature a happy or sad ending, I am always excited to see a topic or dilemma pushed to the extreme. Black Mirror -esque shows are not my only interest. Other shows such as The Office, Parks and Rec, and South Park inspire my comedic interest as well–Most things I create feature some sort of dark humor.
