Defining a Space
In our next project, where our aim is to define a space, me and my partner decided to capture the third floor hallway. Not the skybridge but where there are classrooms and offices. I thought a hallway would be an interesting idea to observe and define as I see it as a “social space” for students in not only Hunter but around the world. The hallway is where you can meet up with your friends before class and discuss how everyone’s day is going. The hallway is where you might run into an old classmate and reminisce about the previous semester. It can also be an opportunity to speak to faculty outside of the classroom, providing a different way to interact with teachers and your piers. Although a lot goes on in the classroom, the hallway combines the academic and social aspects of school.
- Ground Shot of Hallway (hopefully people walking so shoe colors are present)
- Medium Shot from door frame of classroom door looking at the hallway
- Eye level shot of people around each other (Camera lens acting as eyes of person)
- Long Shot of walking through hallway
- High Shot overlooking students in hallway
- Shot that pans wall to wall (simulating looking around the hallway)
- Shot from inside locker
- Shot leaving bathroom
- Wide Shot of the hallway from the beginning of it toward the end
- Try to capture people interacting
